Store Policies

The customer is responsible for the use or mis-use of any product purchased from Saltz Scents Aromatherapy. Saltz Scents Aromatherapy is not responsible for end products which don't turn out as the customer expected. Essential and fragrance oils are not to be used undiluted on the skin and must be kept away from children and pets.

How to place an order: All orders should be placed on our website. By doing so, you will be provided with a written copy of the order, thereby eliminating errors and misunderstandings. Our shopping cart is secure and, once you create an account, your information will be securely retained. You have full control over your account and are free to change billing, shipping, and/or credit card information as many times as needed. Orders not placed online incur a $3 manual entry fee.

Additions to Orders: If you need to add products to an existing order, it would be best if you place a new order. If we're able to ship both orders in one shipment, we will do so and you may be able to save on overall S&H costs. We cannot guarantee, though, that both orders will ship together. If you want us to try to ship both orders together, please email us with instructions at Shipping@SaltzScents.com. A $3 manual entry fee will be charged.

Back Orders/Out of Stock Items: At one time or another we will be out of an item although we do our best to keep all items in stock at all times. Although the rest of the order will ship immediately, we will notify you of the estimated time for delivery of the out-of-stock item. The customer has the right to ask us to remove the product from their order if the delivery time is not agreeable. New S&H charges apply to all back ordered or out of stock items. We cannot call or email customers when an item is not in stock; the out of stock information will be listed on your invoice.

Bottle Fullness: All bottles hold more than the stated amount (to allow room for a variety of caps and fitments), so you will receive at least 15 mL of essential oil blend in the ½ oz bottles, even if the oil does not go to the top.

Cancellations: All cancelled orders for orders which have not yet been prepared and/or packed will incur a $5 cancellation fee (eff. 04/20/06). Please email your cancellation request so you will have proof. The cancellation fee will be deducted from the credit due you. Our website charges your credit card immediately upon order placement. We will charge a 20% restocking charge on the cost of the products along with the cancellation fee on an order which is already prepared, for whatever reason, including if the customer is dissatisfied with final S&H charges:

Catalog: We don't offer a paper catalog at this time. Our complete catalog is online. We have a flyer that describes several of the basic products and a page that lists the essential oils we offer. Email Kayla@SaltzScents.com to request these pdf files.

Certified Checks, Money Orders: If you choose to pay by Certified Check or Money Order, please make it payable to Kayla Saltz; and address the envelope to Saltz Scents M/O, 462 Bonnie Jean Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70819-3411.

Checks: We don't accept checks. Unsolicited checks will be shredded for your security and the order will not be processed.

Credits: If we owe you money for any reason, we will disburse funds via the manner in which you paid. Please check your PayPal account for any credits due you. We cannot apply credits to future orders.

Fraud & Chargebacks: We will promptly reply to any inquiries for chargebacks. Customers who unjustly contest credit card charges will be placed on a "Do Not Sell" list and we will not process any more orders for the customer. We will dispute all chargebacks which are not justified.

Invoices: We will email an invoice once your order ships. An invoice will only be corrected when a product is out of stock, you made additions to the original order or S&H quoted by the shopping cart is too high or too low. If we become backlogged with orders we may not be able to finalize your invoice for a couple of days after the order ships. By placing an order with us you agree to accept any and all invoices we send to you once they're finalized. Please keep in mind that we will not charge your credit card a second time (if this is needed) until the invoice is finalized.

Local Orders: Please email Shipping@SaltzScents.com to arrange local, Baton Rouge, Louisiana-area delivery or pick-up. Our facility is not open to the public.

Payment: PayPal, Certified Checks and Money Orders are accepted for all orders.

PayPal Orders: We reserve the right not to ship any PayPal order whose funds have not been released to us by PayPal. In case you're not aware, PayPal doesn't usually release the funds immediately after a customer asks it to disburse funds. Also, please note that if additional S&H is due on a PayPal order, we will ask you to disburse the funds before we can ship and we must allow those funds to clear. We will not be responsible for any delays in shipping of PayPal orders when funds have not been released to us. Should you refuse to disburse additional funds due on a PayPal order which is already prepared and packed, we will cancel the order, charge a $5 cancellation fee, retain a 20% restocking fee on the cost of the products, and refund the balance via PayPal. We will also make a note on the customer's file to never process an order for that customer again.

PayPal Problems: Once you complete (or think you have completed) a PayPal transaction, if you are not sent back to Saltz Scents Aromatherapy and you do not see on your screen an invoice, an order number, a summary of our terms & conditions, and a summary of your order, your order did not come through to us. Before placing a second order, email Kayla@SaltzScents.com to see if we have an order for you. Please do not place a second order before asking if we have your first order, this creates a lot of work for us and a financial hardship for the customer.

Prices: While we do our best to publish correct price on our website, we reserve the right to correct prices on any order if a price is incorrect. The customer has the right to ask us to remove the product from the order if the correct price is not agreeable; we will issue a refund via PayPal.

Quality of Our Products: We offer top quality essential oils, blends, carrier oils, and various other products. The aroma and/or appearance of essential/vegetable oils and various butters may vary with each re-order and we cannot guarantee that the product you order today will look and smell exactly like the one you ordered previously or like the one you ordered from another supplier; all these products come from nature and there's no standardization. All our products are top quality, unadulterated essential and vegetable oils and raw materials. Our warehouse is fully air conditioned and the system runs 24/7. All our products are fresh and we replenish our stock with regularity as needed.

Returns: All sales are final. We do not accept returns. Unauthorized returns will be discarded and credits will not be issued on these types of returns. If you wish to order a large number of samples, we will be glad to quote a price on those items which interest you, please allow several days for this quote. Any merchandise which is found to be defective or damaged will be replaced with an identical item. Please note also that certain products may be slightly different than you expect them to be; for example, some essential oils and absolutes are quite thick and require warming in order to be able to work with and dilute them. We cannot accept returns of these types of products because you may feel you cannot work with them. We cannot accept returns of products which don't work out for you. We're not there to supervise your use, procedures, storage conditions, how you measure, etc..

Rush Orders: Our turnaround time is two working days, but may change according to the season. Should you require that your order be rushed and shipped sooner than our regular timetable, call us immediately at 225-892-3123 to determine feasibility. We may be able to do so for a surcharge of $20.00. We don't ship certain essential and fragrance oils via air due to their flammability or if they're considered hazardous. If you need an order rushed, please email Shipping@SaltzScents.com and we'll let you know if we can comply.

Safety Disclaimer: While Saltz Scents Aromatherapy provides descriptions of its ingredients and supplies on its website, it cannot and will not guarantee the accuracy of information provided to the customer via all methods of communication: phone, email, fax, letters, in person. It is the customer's responsibility to conduct appropriate research on the use and safety of each item. The contents of our catalog and website have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

By purchasing and using products sold by Saltz Scents Aromatherapy you agree that (a) you will not hold Saltz Scents Aromatherapy liable for any incidents or complications which may result from your storage and/or use or mis-use of the products (b) you will assume all product liability for the final products/creations which you create with products purchased from Saltz Scents Aromatherapy (c) you understand that numerous essential oils can be poisonous and/or fatal if ingested (d) you understand that fragrance oils are synthetic and are not meant for ingestion and (e) you will use common sense when using any of our raw materials, and (f) products which may be dangerous or which may be ingested or inhaled by a child, a mentally handicapped person, the elderly (including persons with Alzheimer's) or pets will be stored safely away from those persons or pets.

Sales Tax: Louisiana residents will be charged sales tax unless we are provided with a copy of the current sales tax certificate. Please mail this to Solomon Saltz, 462 Bonnie Jean Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70819-3411. The portion you need to send to us has to have an expiration date and has to match the name and shipping address of the order. If we charged you sales tax because you did not provide your Louisiana tax certificate information, we cannot credit you at a later date for this sales tax. At the beginning of each calendar year you must fax us your new Louisiana sales tax certificate with the new year's expiration date.

Samples: If you wish to order a large number of samples, we will be glad to quote a price on those items which interest you. Please allow at least 2 business days for this quote. We can provide a maximum of 4 free samples of essential oils with the customer paying S&H of approximately $2.50 (within the U.S.); if the samples you request are for very expensive essential products such as Neroli and Jasmine, the sample will consist of 1 drop. Samples of other products may incur a charge, please inquire.

Scent Variation: Some customers may be accustomed to using fragrance oils, which should smell the same time after time, instead of essential oils and then when they receive an order of pure essential oils they are disappointed that the essential oil doesn't smell the same as a synthetic fragrance oil. Before a customer orders a large quantity of a particular product, we suggest that a sample be obtained since we don't accept returns once an order leaves our facility. We can provide a maximum of 4 free samples of essential oils with the customer paying S&H of approximately $2.50 (within the U.S.); if the samples you request are for very expensive essential products such as Neroli and Jasmine, the sample will consist of 1 drop. Samples of other products may incur a charge, please inquire.

Shipping Charges: Our shopping cart is set up to provide an estimate of S&H charges at the time an order is placed. Occasionally, the shopping cart may misquote S&H charges and these errors will be caught once the order ships and we finalize the invoice. We reserve the right to charge a customer's credit card for the additional amount due us. By placing an order on our website you agree to these terms.
