Saltz Scents uses pure essential oils and naturally nutrient-rich carrier products to create helpful, healthful, therapeutic items to encourage your abundant life. Essential oils have been part of my healing process and continued well-being.
I became ill with Chronic Fatigue & Immune Dysfunction Syndrome at the end of my sophomore year of college. I had only been married 5 months at the time. Within three years, I was housebound, trying to figure out how to get better.
I began investigating aromatherapy. Since I was plagued by chronic sinusitis, I looked for an essential oil remedy to attack those painful, gross and annoying symptoms. Certain that the warm humidity of my bath could be used to help clear my chest and head, I found a bath salt product with eucalyptus and peppermint oil. I decided to improve upon it and create other application types such as a body oil. I added rosemary to further assist with clearing out the crud; and chamomile to help relax the coughs and relieve tension. I added tea tree to fight the infection.
I made a bath salt with epsom, coarse kosher and rock salt; and a massage oil with jojoba, olive, safflower, sweet almond and grapeseed oil. I put the blend of essential oils in the bath salt and in the massage oil; soaked in the tub with the salts, rubbed the oils on my chest and put the straight essential oil blend in my vaporizer water. It was like being in an exotic eucalyptus jungle! I was free of the crud and I could breathe freely!
So, I made something else ... Uplifting, to help improve my mood. Who knew good smells could make such a difference?! Then, I branched out into Calming, then back to a more physical one, Pain-Relieving, before going after something for my PMS, Moon Balance. I've tweaked recipes over the years to release the solely decorative in exchange for the therapeutic, but the goal has always been the same - to help people feel better.
